Why Financial Wellness Belongs in Wellness Spaces:

My Role in the Triangle Yoga Festival

Wellness is often framed around movement, mindfulness, and mental health, and while those are essential, there’s another layer that’s just as impactful and often overlooked: financial wellness.

That’s why I’m excited to be part of the Triangle Yoga Festival, a vibrant gathering designed to connect minds, bodies, and communities through yoga, wellness, and intentional conversation. The festival brings together movement, reflection, and education in a way that feels inclusive, grounded, and accessible. I’m honored to contribute to that space through both my work and my mission.

Why FACTS for Youth Is Part of the Financial Wellness Conversation

As the founder of FACTS for Youth, my work centers on one core belief: financial literacy is a life skill, and it directly impacts our mental and emotional well-being.

FACTS for Youth exists to instill financial knowledge that equips and empowers students to achieve financial independence. Through hands-on workshops and real-life money education, we help young people build confidence, clarity, and healthy habits around money early on.

But the truth is, financial stress doesn’t start in adulthood, it often starts with what we weren’t taught as kids.

That’s why being part of a wellness-focused event like the Triangle Yoga Festival feels so aligned. Financial literacy doesn’t live in isolation; it affects how we sleep, how we make decisions, how we show up for our families, and how we navigate stress. Bringing that conversation into a wellness space is not only appropriate — it’s necessary.

Introducing: Balance Your Breath, Balance Your Budget

One of the sessions I’m most excited about this year is “Balance Your Breath, Balance Your Budget,” a fireside-chat style conversation that reframes financial literacy as a form of self-care.

I’ll be joined by financial advisor Curtis Byrd, and together we’ll explore how building financial clarity can help reduce stress, increase confidence, and create a greater sense of balance in everyday life. This session isn’t about perfection or complex financial strategies, it’s about approachability, mindset, and taking the first steps toward feeling more grounded financially.

This conversation is designed for:

  • Adults experiencing financial stress or uncertainty

  • Parents and caregivers looking to model healthier money habits

  • Anyone who wants to feel more confident and less overwhelmed when it comes to their finances

Attendees will leave with practical tools, mindset shifts, and actionable next steps they can apply immediately, all within a supportive, judgment-free space.

why this matters to me

As an author, educator, and nonprofit founder, I’ve seen firsthand how transformative financial education can be, especially when it’s delivered with intention and care. I’ve also seen how many people carry financial anxiety quietly, without realizing how deeply it affects their overall well-being.

The Triangle Yoga Festival creates space for important conversations, and I’m proud that financial wellness has a seat at the table this year. Wellness isn’t just about what we do on the mat, it’s about how we support ourselves off of it too.
